July 2021 Recap Post

What is making the weather so oppressive lately? Is it the Druids? An angry Primarch? Is it this magical wall surrounding Cerroneth? The Gather in Coopersvale was stormy and wet, but the heroes braved the circumstances and the weather, living up to their name.

This strange magical force that has the world in turmoil seems to have halted. No movement from this wall has been reported for the last 3 weeks. Surely the heroic sacrifice of so many heroes at the Mill Stone has stopped the advance of this deadly disaster. Still, the Carpathians on the southern continent of Terra Nocte have been displaced AGAIN by this tragedy, as the wall came to rest partway up that continent.

The Kingdom seems adamant in their efforts to restructure the Crown Guilds. Merchants coming into town reported that their supplies are being bought up by the Kingdom to stock their Guilds.

Carpathians, Nipponese and Voss are being seen in greater numbers around the Kingdom, and even at the Gathers. While some have been welcoming to these refugees, there are many who are left adrift, making their flight from destruction even more challenging. Carpathians are reporting that they are again fleeing for their lives from this disaster. The Shogun, Ito no Hiro was also in town, speaking with many heroes, and even sharing knowledge of his country, including a popular game from Nippon. Doubling down on his intentions of marrying our Queen, Parissa Von Crimson, he was asking about, trying to learn what he could of the Heroes.

Werewolves were also reported around town. Their assaults of smaller villages across Cerroneth also seem to include the town of Coopersvale. What is making so many of these lycanthropes so active as of late? Surely it cannot be good, and many villagers have lost their lives or gone missing during their raids.

Saturday night, there appeared an imposing black obelisk in town, spawning strange undead with runes carved into their bodies. The Heroes were initially loath to confront this abomination, but gathered their forces to stem the tide of Runed Undead. Surrounding the obelisk, they gathered mighty magical energies and blasted the construct into pieces, ending the threat.

Sunday saw the reappearance of the strange Three-Headed Deer. Its control of the various magical creatures from around our world is concerning. Demanding an apology from the Heroes for an offense given, it used its own powerful magic to root the Heroes to the ground while the displaced magical creatures assaulted them with deadly force.

A rag-tag group of small fey were seen fleeing to the Heroes for help. A mummified Beholder - a creature both powerful and resistant to magic - chased them into the center of town, where the Heroes sprang to the aid of the pixies and brownies. Finally defeating the abominable creature, the fleeing fey then shared their treats with the Heroes in thanks.
