June 2021 Recap Post

The Gather in Coopersvale started off with a bang as the Voss appeared in town - just as they had threatened. However, instead of attacking, the Voss joined the heroes as a wave of rune-covered undead also fell upon town. As the two long-historied forces fought the undead, the Voss leader known as The Kreishadottir proposed to Queen Parissa Von Crimson. Our beloved Queen seems to be collecting suitors as of late. Shogun Ito no Hiro, The Kreishadottir, and who knows who else? Who will she choose?!

The reason for Queen Parissa’s visit to Coopersvale would soon be learned. The Kingdom is reorganizing the Crown guilds. The Kingdom is throwing more weight behind its support of its appointed guilds, and making a new position for them Guild Grandmasters, lofty positions in the Queens own council. Additionally, the formation of a fifth Crown guild: the Apothecary’s Guild to stand alongside the Healer’s Guild, the Smithing Guild, the Necromancer’s Guild and Celestial Guild in serving the Kingdom of Cerroneth.

Saturday morning saw an opportunity for the young heroes in town to help a merchant recover her stolen goods. The Dark Fairies: Mabh and Cherry came to town, and spoke with some heroes there - many who were shocked to learn that the two were actually sisters. Is this connected to the strange behavior of Fairies in Cerroneth? The leaders of the Baronies have been acting strangely. Some have even been seen talking to themselves, or holding entire conversations with some unseen being.

A small group of heroes were able to come to the aid of a nearby potato loving community that had fallen victim to a heinous raid the night before. The hero’s were able to reach a small group of werewolves through the woods, defeating the villains and saving the farmers.

Saturday night, Baron Korbyn of The Enclave gathered volunteers to visit the Millstone in an attempt to fortify the magic of the Point of Creation. He believed that with sacrificing heroic lives, or magical items, Cerroneth would gain the strength to push back against the disaster slowly making its way to the Kingdom. Many heroes gathered in front of the Tavern where the ent, August met them, and set up a large Formal Circle. Soon the heroes found themselves transported to an area with a large forest, that at the center laid the remnants of a grand city. When approaching, the stones would come alive, warning the heroes away, promising impending doom. Ignoring the warnings, the heroes made their way to the giant Millstone. The fabled feeding point of the magic of Creation stood before the heroes, and they walked bravely into it, sacrificing themselves for the betterment of the world.

Sunday morning, the young heroes - escorted by Guildmaster Gamlador and Rova Belle, marched into an ancient dwarven fortress now overrun with rat creatures. As they delved into the fortress, new and exciting discoveries were made about the nature of the rova, and perhaps the wererats that had taken over the fortress. The heroes returned full of knowledge - and an acrid odor that seemed impossible to wash off.

The sky soon split, and a terrible storm fell upon Coopersvale, soaking all who ventured forth, and making the ground slick. All too often it seems our heroes have had to add the weather to the list of enemies they have to face this year.

Soon, however, the leaders of each of the Baronies had sprung into action, gathering their allies and gear. Some unseen force had prompted them to all move off into the Khazad-nala mountains east of Haldras. There, they followed their unseen guide to the Labyrinth of Lost Things. This towering maze of items soon split the groups up, as each Baron split off, they answered riddles and were sent on winding, splitting paths. For hours, they wandered the Labyrinth before being led out of its baffling paths. Each leader clutched an ancient, yet strangely familiar looking weapon, and spoke of meeting with an odd figure laden down with lost items.

The weapons lost to time, found again...
