• Assault
o Definition: The willful attack on another citizen by any means including but not limited to weapon, spells, alchemy, potion, or agent. This includes alteration of another’s personality or memories through any means, other than resurrection. If the person so altered commits a crime due to this influence, the burden of the crime will be on the accused. If the assault causes resurrection the charge will become murder. In a case where an agent is hired, both the agent and employer shall be charged equally for all crimes committed
o Punishment: A fine of at least Twenty-Five Gold Pieces.
• Murder
o Definition: The willful attack on another citizen by any means including but not limited to weapon, spells, alchemy, potion, or agent, causing resurrection or final death. In a case where an agent is hired, both the agent and employer shall be charged equally for all crimes committed.
o Punishment: A fine of at least 100 gold pieces.
If the victim of the crime resurrected will have the life force transferred to them through the use of formal magic.
If the victim of the crime dies their final death, the punishment shall be Master Curse of Death Brand for three months
• Kidnapping
o Definition: This crime involves the unlawful taking and holding of a citizen against his or her will, and/or attempts to ransom these captives friends, family, or others.
o Punishment: A fine of at least Fifty gold pieces and Curse through formal magic.
• Theft and/or Destruction of Property
o Definition: The punishment of Theft or Destruction of property carry the same punishment. If both crimes are committed, the punishment is the same for each offense
Theft: The taking of another citizen’s property without permission is theft. Looting another’s body is a form of theft and will be treated as such.
Destruction of Property: The willful destruction of another’s property without consent
o Punishment: Compensation for losses. A Lesser Curse shall be cast upon the accused and will remain for the time of at least one month.
• Impersonating a higher station and/or Mockery of a Noble
o Definition: The punishment of these crimes carry the same level of punishment.
Impersonating a Higher Station: The act of pretending to have a higher station when one is not possessed, but also acting as if one of higher stations has given authority to act in their name when one has not. In the case of impersonating nobility and another crime is committed the charge can be elevated to Treason. Higher station indicates a station above commoner: guild master and all ranks of nobility. Impersonation of a member of the Royal Family, any false pretense to Royal Authority, or any action on behalf of such a pretender is Treason against the Crown.
Mockery of a Noble: This involves the defamation of a Noble’s Character through insults, lies, or mockery. It is also disobedience or impersonation of a noble. If this is used to incite rebellion the charge becomes Treason. Defamation of the Royal Family is Sedition. Sedition is any act or word against the King or Queen of Cerroneth or the Royal Family that causes any form of dishonor or embarrassment to the crown. If used to incite rebellion this becomes High Treason.
o Punishment: A fine of at least twenty-five gold pieces and a Lesser, Greater, or Master Curse based on the severity of the impersonation or noble mocked.
• Defrauding the King’s Justice
o Definition: To knowingly lie or make false or misleading statements to a noble, constable, or High Justice, or other persons given the power to conduct an official investigation or trial while they are in the course of such an investigation or trial. Another term for this is “Lying to the Crown.” Failure to report offenses against the Crown, including sedition, conspiracy against the Crown, or any form of treason, is also Defrauding the King’s Justice.
o Punishment: Cursed through formal magic. Curse shall remain for at least three months.
• Treason
o Definition: Rendering aid to an enemy of the Crown or the Lands, inciting rebellion against the noble courts of Cerroneth, or attempt to commit these acts. Crimes against the Royal Family become High Treason for which the penalty is final death.
o Punishment: Cursed through the use of Formal and/or execution, until final death in the case of Treason or Attempted Treason against the Crown or Royal Family
• Flight from Prosecution
o Definition: The wilful attempt to evade prosecution by the rightful force of law in any land for any crimes against the laws of Cerroneth.
o Punishment: Execution and/or cursed through formal magics.
• Undead Creation/Transformation
o Definition: The use of any spell, ability, or item that causes the creation of undead as well as the use of any spell, ability, or item that transforms a living being into undead. Creating or transforming any creature into an undead will also carry the charge of murder.
o Punishment: A fine of at least Seventy-Five Gold in addition to the punishment for Murder.
• Unlicensed use of Necromancy
o Definition: The use of any spell, ability, or item that is necromantic in nature without having a writ from the Necromancy Guild of Cerroneth or using said magic in the effort to attack citizens of Cerroneth even with a writ.
o Punishment: Cursed through formal magics

• Who has the authority to hold court and pass judgement of not guilty or guilty
o High Justice
Holds court and passes judgement for all including the King, Queen, and the Royal Family. Any court involving anyone of baron or higher noble status will be held within a closed court.
o King and Queen
Holds court and passes judgement for all including the Royal Family. Any court involving anyone of baron or higher noble status will be held within a closed court.
o Duke and Duchess
Focus of crimes committed within their territory. Any court involving anyone of Baron or higher noble status will be held within a closed court.
o Count and Countess
Focus of crimes committed within their territory. Any court involving a baron will be held within a closed court.
o Baron and Baroness
Only for crimes committed within their barony. This will be an open court for any to attend.
o High General
Focus on war crimes, infractions within the Cerroneth Military
o High Admiral
Focus on war crimes, infractions within the Cerroneth Navy
• Who shall deliver the sentencing of the crime
o For crimes that have the punishment of fines shall be paid to the crown. The noble which held court shall receive and deliver the fine
o For crimes that have the punishment of loss of life less than four lives the offender shall be executed by the noble who passed judgement or by either a duly appointed court noble or higher noble if a higher noble so chooses.
o For crimes that have the punishment of loss of life greater than or equal to four lives that coincide with the amount of life force lost through the use of soul destruction shall be executed by the High Mage. This includes up to Obliteration. Should the High Mage not be available to do this, the authority to appoint an executioner lies with the High Justice, King, or Queen. Should none of those be available to appoint an executioner within a timely manner (one month), then it falls to the highest rank noble that is readily available.
o For crimes that require the use of formal magic to execute the offender will have the following formal rituals cast upon them

Appropriate formal ritual
o For crimes that require the use of formal magic to curse the offender shall be cast by High Mage. Should the High Mage not be available the noble who passed judgement may appoint a court noble to cast the ritual.
Any cursing magics that are cast upon an offender shall remain for the full duration. If they are prematurely removed for any reason the sentencing time of the curse will double.
